Joplin, MO (SNS) – Concerts on Thursday and Friday evening in Joplin will provide a rousing conclusion to the Missouri Southern State University’s spring 2016 semester.

  • The department will present “A Spring Choral Concert” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 3035 Central City Road in Joplin.

The concert will feature the Missouri Southern Chamber Singers, Jazz Unlimited and the Missouri Southern Concert Chorale under the conduction of Dr. David L. Sharlow, with Glenda Austin as accompanist.

  • The Missouri Southern Wind Ensemble & Concert Band Spring Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at Taylor Performing Arts Center.

The concert is under the direction of Dr. Ricardo Espinosa.

The event will open with the performance by the Concert Band under the direction of several student conductors and conductors. It will conclude with the performance by the Missouri Southern State University Wind Ensemble.

Performances on both nights are free and open to the public.
