Kiprop earns his second Athlete of the Week honor this outdoor season and it’s the sixth week in a row the Lions have taken home the honor. Southern won the award every week during the outdoor season as Jeff Fraley won it four times and Kiprop has won it twice.

Kiprop set another MSSU school record as he finished 11th in the 5k at the Drake Relays in a time of 14:15.13 last week. The time is more than six seconds in front of the previous record set in 2004. Kiprop’s time ranks 20th nationally in the event.

Kiprop and the Lions will be in action this weekend as the Lions compete in the 2016 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The event will be held at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo.
