New hires announced by HR Department

Two new hires have been announced in the Human Resources Department.

Kathryn Fields, who began on July 5, is serving as HR coordinator. She comes to Missouri Southern from Joplin Schools’ HR department, where she provided day-to-day coordination and support for more than 500 certified staff members. She also serves as a coach for the JOMO Volleyball traveling league.

Deborah Schow-Smith is the university’s new HR Training Specialist. She previously worked at Graham Packaging as an administrative specialist, an internship coordinator for Crowder College and as the market communications coordinator for LEGO Education North America. She has her master’s degree in Administrative Studies-Applied Communication.

Both are graduates of Missouri Southern, so help us welcome them back to campus!
