Joplin, MO – The Missouri Southern television station, KGCS-TV, has announced that it will once again provide live coverage of all MSSU home football games this season, starting with the home opener on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Students from the Department of Communication will be involved in all aspects of the production, from play-by-play announcing to directing and camera work.

“This type of sports production provides excellent hands-on opportunities for our students.  It is truly a teamwork effort,” says Judy Stiles, KGCS general manager.

In addition to the live coverage, the games will be replayed at 7 p.m. each Sunday on “Southern Sports Sunday.”

KGCS moves on Cable One system

Starting Sept. 13, KGCS will appear on a new channel for those using Cable One.

The station is moving to channel 22 as part of Cable One’s channel realignment due to their system-wide digital upgrade. KGCS has been part of the cable provider’s lineup since 1984.
