Being a manager or supervisor is more than just a title. It requires skills in leadership, communication, conflict resolution and delegation. Effective supervisors learn from past experiences and search out best practices, applying knowledge and know-how to improve both themselves and those who report to them.

Human Resources and the HR Training Department will be hosting an assessment training titled “Am I an Effective Manager?” from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in BSC 341. Attendees will utilize an assessment tool to help gauge their strengths and challenges as effective supervisors, and develop a plan of action to adjust approaches and enhance leadership skills. All university personnel in supervisory roles are encouraged to attend.
