Do you know how to approach a difficult conversation, navigate through a potentially heated debate or handle unwanted criticism … without generating conflict? If you are like many Americans, the answer is no.

Would it surprise you to learn conflict is not only inevitable, it can also be healthy? The key to communicating through conflict is understanding your personal approach to conflict and how your conflict style impacts others and the situation.

HR will present Communicating Through Conflict at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Room 341 of Billingsly Student Center. The session will focus on teaching various conflict styles. Attendees will assess their own conflict style using the Thomas-Kilmann conflict mode instrument and then determine how to best interact with others and communicate through conflict. Tips to manage and improve conflict both in the workplace and at home will also be provided.
