HR Training will offer a session on Building Personal Resiliency from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in Room 309 of Billingsly Student Center. 200

Resiliency is defined as the ability to recover quickly from disruptive change or misfortune without being overwhelmed or acting in dysfunctional and harmful ways. During the holiday season, it is common for regular routines to be be disrupted and for a feeling of being overwhelmed to take root. Learning how to find balance and build resiliency is key to being happy and healthy this time of year.

The session will focus on increasing awareness of current personal resources while developing a broader and deeper range of skills to help bounce back during stressful times. Those attending will explore four key areas to resiliency: Nutrition, exercise, stress management and social connections.
