JOPLIN, MO– Regular registration will take place Thursday, Jan. 12 and Friday,  Jan. 13 for spring semester classes at Missouri Southern State University.

Classes begin on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at MSSU.

Registration will be held from 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the students’ academic major departments. Faculty and staff will be available after 1 p.m. on both days.

Returning students who were not enrolled during the previous semester will start the registration procedure in the Admissions Office, Hearnes Hall. Undeclared students taking classes on campus should register with Advising, Counseling & Testing Services in Hearnes Hall from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Jan. 12-13.

The First-Year Experience Office activities (all on Friday, Jan. 13):

9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Blackboard Training, Hearnes Hall, Room 317. Bring the tablet or laptop you plan to use for school to learn more.

11 a.m. – Noon
“Roary’s Declassified College Survival Guide” session, Hearnes Hall, Room 311.  Learn “insider” information about MSSU and helpful hints that will make the transition to MSSU a successful one. Free candy and snacks will be provided.

1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Hearnes Hall Open House will feature representatives from the Registrar, Admissions, Bursar, Advising, Counseling & Testing, First-Year Experience and Project Stay offices will be on hand to answer questions and share information about their services. Enjoy free snacks and door prizes.

6:30 p.m.
Showing of “Arrival” in Phelps Theater in Billingsly Student Center. The PG 13 film is free to all MSSU students and family members. Free candy and drinks are included.
