Guest pianist Dr. Jason Terry’s performance scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium has been canceled.

Terry will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium.

A 2009 graduate of Missouri Southern, Terry received his master’s of music from Baylor University in 2012 and his doctorate from the University of South Carolina in 2016. He is currently on staff at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University where he teaches in the piano pedagogy division and for the Young Pianists Program.

As a solo and collaborative artist, he has given performances throughout the United States, France, South Korea, and Central & Southeast Asia.  He is the former director of Midlands Music Academy, a full-band/orchestra academy in South Carolina.  Research presentations have taken him to conferences in the U.S., Southeast Asia, and recently he has been invited to present at multiple European conferences throughout 2017. 

His piano concert at Missouri Southern will include works by Beethoven, Scarlatti and Balakirev, as well as three George Gershwin melodies.

The concert – made possible by a grant from the Vivian Leon Fund for the Musical Arts – is free and open to the public.
