To combat the struggles of being a parent in the digital world, the Social Work Department at Missouri Southern – in conjunction with The Alliance of Southwest Missouri and Midwest IT Services – will host a cyber safety seminar at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in the Mills Anderson Justice Center auditorium.
“Technology has enhanced many aspects of our society,” said Dr. Renee White, chair of the Social Work Department. “Unfortunately it, and specifically digital communication, can also be a place of concern for parents with children.”
“This seminar will equip parents with up-to-date information from five subject-matter experts. As a part of our mission, the Department of Social Work desires to partner with community efforts in reducing or eliminating social problems. We look forward to this seminar and assisting parents with knowledge, skills and resources for keeping children safe in the digital age.”
The event is free and open to the public.
