In-person Title IX training will be offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.

Sessions for new hires will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., with refresher training at noon and 12:30 p.m. New-hire training is for employees who are new to the university or have not completed Title IX training in the past. Refresher training is for employees who have completed the training in the past. All sessions will feature a video presentation facilitated by one of the university’s Title IX investigators. To reserve a seat, contact HRtraining@mssu.edu.

For those who are unable to attend an in-person session, online training will be available through Blackboard. To access the online training modules, employees will need to log into Blackboard (mssu.blackboard.com) and select “Organizations” in the left navigation bar; then select “HR Training IX Training” from the available listing.

An interactive quiz is incorporated into the training and a score of 100 percent is required to pass the module. If an employee scores less than that, they will need to restart the video and try again.

Federal law mandates all university personnel must successfully complete Title IX compliance training each academic year. Title IX protects individuals from sexual discrimination in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. To ensure MSSU is operating in a nondiscriminatory manner and all university personnel are aware of and comply with Southern prevention resources, policies and procedures, training is being offered in-person and online to all MSSU faculty and staff this academic year.

If you have questions regarding Title IX policy or reporting, please contact Julie Wengert, Dean of Student Success (Wengert-J@mssu.edu); Landon Adams, Director of Student Life and Conduct (Adams-L@mssu.edu); or Evan Jewsbury, Chief Human Resources officer (Jewsbury-E@mssu.edu).
