Twenty students who studied abroad this summer in parts of France, Spain and Portugal will host two informational presentations over the next couple of weeks.

“MSSU on the Camino,” which covers the students’ trip along the Camino de Santiago – a medieval pilgrimage trail – will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, and 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Both presentations will take place in Room 105 of Webster Hall.

Drs. Susana Liso (Modern Languages), Rebecca Shriver (History) and Rebecca Mouser (English/Philosophy) joined the students on the trip.

“I’m extremely proud of our students who were intelligent, responsible and enthusiastic along the Camino, and always open to new experiences,” said Mouser. “I’m excited to hear them share their knowledge and memories. I know they are eager as well.”

“They showed profound respect everywhere we went by always attempting to converse in the native language,” said Shriver. “They also embraced the local cuisine and not once did they ask if we could eat at a fast-food chain.

“I strongly encourage members of our university and community to come listen to these students share about their experiences. I am certain all who attend will find their talks enjoyable and rewarding, but I also want everyone to join me in commending these students for being outstanding ambassadors for both Missouri Southern and the United States.”
