With less than a week to go before the start of a new football season at Missouri Southern State University, MSSU students are preparing to bring all of the live-action to area fans who won’t be able to attend the games.

Once again, KGCS-TV will broadcast all home games – beginning with the season opener against Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday, September 5. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.

The station will also provide coverage for the MIAA’s live streaming service. In addition, the games will be recorded and replayed on KGCS on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. as “Southern Sports Sunday.”

“These games provide excellent opportunities for our students to gain hands-on experience with live sports productions,” said Judy Stiles, KGCS general manager. “They do everything from directing behind the scenes to running cameras and announcing.”

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight (formerly Cable One), Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
