The lives of those lost on September 11, 2001, will be honored during a ceremony at noon Wednesday on the Oval.

The annual event, put on by Campus Activities, will feature the playing of the National Anthem, comments from Darren Fullerton, vice president for Student Affairs, Matt Stewart, Joplin police chief and MSSU alum, and a moment of silence.

“Our goal with this event is to have our students, faculty and staff take a moment to reflect on this tragedy and the lives we have lost,” said Fullerton. “We also want to take a moment to remember and honor those who are serving today in the military, police, fire or first responders.”
