The Lions will take over downtown Joplin once again when Missouri Southern hosts Third Thursday, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Presented by the Downtown Joplin Alliance, the event features food trucks, street vendors, entertainment, art and music between First and Seventh streets on Main Street.
The Missouri Southern-sponsored event has grown to be one of the largest and most attended Third Thursdays of the year. This year, the university’s tables and displays will be located between Fourth and Six streets.
Tables will showcase a wide variety of academic offerings, and there will be performances by the marching band and jazz orchestra, tasty offerings from Jay Jay Wolf as part of the Oceania Semester, and a dedication of the new mural under the Sixth Street viaduct.
