Please note that Open Enrollment will begin on October 1, 2019 and end on October 31, 2019 for benefits eligible employees. It’s required that all employees must enroll online during this timeframe in order for your benefits plans to be continued. MSSU and the Insurance Committee are pleased to continue offering Health, Dental, Vision, and EAP benefit programs administered through Cigna for the 2020 plan year. Below you will find a few of the highlights for the upcoming plan year. The attached documents will provide you with additional details regarding your 2020 benefit plans. Please note that additional plan information regarding benefits isavailable on our SharePoint site by clicking here or by contacting Human Resources.

A new website will be used to enroll in benefits for 2020, called PlanSource. Beginning October 1, 2019 go to http://benefits.plansource.com  or call 1-855-730-8656 between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to make your annual benefit elections. Benefits changes are effective beginning January 1, 2020. All employees must go online to confirm their benefits, even if you have no changes as this is an active open enrollment. This year each of the voluntary benefits plans offered by The Standard will also be available online for enrollment. This includes Critical Illness, Short-term Disability, Accident, Life, Voluntary Life and Hospital Indemnity.

 Benefits Open Enrollment Highlights for 2020:

  • Cigna Dental & Vision plans will both experience small increases in premium beginning in 2020.
  • The Standard products will have a rate reduction for 2020. The Standard will continue to serve as our provider for Supplemental Coverage options such as Critical Illness (includes Cancer); Short-term DisabilityAccident; and Hospital Indemnity. Visit PlanSource online during your enrollment to learn more about these coverages or attend an enrollment event on campus.
  • Wellness Incentive Program (WIP) incentives will be applied via payroll to each employee who completes all activities by October 31, 2019. A monthly premium credit of $25.00 per month will be provided beginning in January, 2020. Visit www.myCigna.com to make sure you have 400 points and to log your points. Additional information and newsletter sign-up information regarding the WIP program can be found here here. The WIP program will continue in 2020 so be sure to log your points for the new plan year January 1, 2020 – October 31, 2020.
  • The OMADA program is a new online based digital lifestyle change program available at no cost to insured employees. All employees receive a digital scale that is yours to keep, mailed directly to your home. To see if you qualify go to www.omadahealth.com/mssu
  • The Cigna medical plans will continue to retain the enhanced mail order prescription drug benefit where you can buy 2 months’ supply and get 3 months delivered to your home, while saving a copay. Enroll by calling Cigna directly or by going online to www.myCigna.com and to learn more click here.
  • The EAP (Employee Assistance Program) offered through Cigna & The Standard both offer services to you at no additional cost. To learn more about the EAP click here.
  • Do you have childcare, pharmacy or medial expenses that you have to typically pay out of pocket? You might consider enrolling in an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or DCA (Dependent Care Account) through ASI. These accounts allow you to save money on your taxes by setting aside a monthly deduction from your paycheck each month to be used for those eligible expenses pre-tax!   • Voluntary Retirement Plans 403(b) & 457(b) – Retirement savings is important. Early saving allows more time for your investments to grow. Even if you invest $25 per month, it can make a big difference over the years. These additional dollars put towards your retirement are available pre or post-tax through payroll deduction.
