Regional tourism – and the Stanley Cup’s recent visit to Joplin – will highlight the next edition of “Newsmakers” on KGCS-TV.

Joplin Convention & Visitors Bureau director, Patrick Tuttle, will join host and KGCS general manager, Judy Stiles, to talk about CVB operations, as well as the upcoming holiday schedule for the city of Joplin. The show will also feature a report from MSSU communication major, Shea Schrader, involving the October 11 visit of the Stanley Cup – won by the St. Louis Blues against the Boston Bruins back in June. The championship trophy made a stop at Joplin’s City Hall a couple of hours one morning for fans to enjoy.

The show will air nightly at 5:30 p.m., beginning on Sunday, November 10 on KGCS-TV. It will also air on Saturday, November 16 at 5:30 a.m. on KOAM-TV – and is currently posted on KGCS’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
