A special ceremony, a 5K and several spirit days are among the Veterans Week 2019 activities planned at Missouri Southern.
The events, which will celebrate and support veterans on campus, are sponsored by the Show-Me Gold program, Veterans Services, the Student Veterans Organization, Student Activities, Athletics and Recreation Services.
Saturday, Nov. 9
Military Appreciation & Senior Night during the MSSU vs. Emporia State football game – 2:30 p.m., Fred G. Hughes Stadium
Monday, Nov. 11
Veterans Day ceremony and lunch – 11 a.m., Freedom Flag on the Oval
Tuesday, Nov. 12
Red, White & Blue Spirit Day – wear patriotic colors in support of veterans
Wednesday, Nov. 13
Flag football tournament – 5 p.m., intramural field
Thursday, Nov. 14
Camo Spirit Day – wear camo colors
Custom Dog Tags – 10:30 to 1:30 p.m., Billingsly Student Center
Friday, Nov. 15
Yellow Ribbon Spirit Day – wear a yellow ribbon in support of veterans and our troops
Packet pickup for 5K – 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Recreation Center, front desk
Saturday, Nov. 16
Run with the Heroes 5K – 8 a.m. to noon, MSSU campus
