A simple Facebook post from the Lion Co-op resulted in some instant generosity from off campus.

The Joplin Roadrunners, a group of local runners and walkers of all ages and abilities – which prides itself in giving back to the community – donated $500 to the co-op. The money was raised during the organization’s 37th annual Pumpkin Run back in October.

“After we sent out a post asking for donations, the community responded immediately with an abundance of generosity,” said Gil Salgado, a social work intern at the co-op. “This community’s outpouring of generosity is one of many things that makes me proud to be a Joplinite and an MSSU Lion.”

There’s also something new involving the co-op – a way to receive important updates on your phone.
