The annual Southern Media Showcase competition was held this year, with students from area high schools submitting entries. Winners were announced during an online presentation on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Students who won awards will receive medals.
“Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, we were still able to have schools participate and submit student work again this year,” said Judy Stiles, KGCS general manager. The competition features categories for publications and audio/video work.
The annual event is presented by the Department of Communication at MSSU. In the past, students came to campus for a day of presentations and awards. The program was revised this year to online competition only due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Plans are to have the event again in December of 2021. Entries will be due in October.
