The Missouri Southern Board of Governors will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.

An agenda for the meeting is attached.

Prior to the meeting, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new trail, which stretches from the tennis courts on the south side of campus to the intersection with Turkey Creek Road.

Funded through a grant from the Federal Highway Administration, the project was a collaboration between Missouri Southern, the city of Joplin and the Missouri Department of Transportation. It creates a convenient path from campus to the Northstar 14 movie theater and Northpark Mall.

The Academic Affairs Committee will meet at 11 a.m. in the Ballroom, followed by the Budget and Audit Committee at 11:30 a.m.

Following the full board meeting, there will be an executive closed session under:

RSMo 610.021(1): Legal actions, causes of action or litigation involving a public governmental body and any confidential or privileged communications between a public governmental body or its representatives and its attorneys; and

RSMo  610.021(3): relating to hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting of particular employees by a public governmental body when personal information about the employee is discussed or recorded.
