The Missouri Southern men’s and women’s golf teams were competing both at the Rogers State Hillcat Classic today at Bailey’s Ranch Golf Club.
The Southern men are tied for third overall, while the women are in sixth.
For the men, Connor Williamson shot six birdies over the first 36 holes, including a two-under par on the second 18 today to finish tied for seventh individually. Ben Marckmann had four birdies over the first 36 and finished tied for 21st with a 153, while Logan Greer and Alexander Page both had four birdies and finished tied for 25th at 154. Ben Epperly had three birdies and was tied for 29th at 155, while Tradgon McCrae had three birdies and was tied for 44th at 161.
On the women’s side, Kylie Carnes and Kenzie Kirkhart both had two birdies, while Grace Garner posted a birdie of her own. Iratxe Fernandez-Cano Aldasoro had the top round as she shot an 81 and is tied for 8th individually. Maggie Moore is tied at 22nd with an 85, while Garner finished tied for 38th at 89. Kirkhart is tied for 43rd at 91, while Lily Allman was 53rd at 95.
Tenth-ranked Rogers State leads the men’s field as the Hillcats are 16 strokes in front of Union. The Lions are tied with Fort Hays State for third, while Lincoln, Drury, Newman, Oklahoma Wesleyan, Northwestern Oklahoma and Rogers State (B) team rounds out the team scores.
On the women’s side, RSU leads the way and is ten strokes in front of Missouri Western. Newman is third, followed by Arkansas-Monticello, Fort Hays State, the Lions, Union, Northwestern Oklahoma, and Southern Nazarene to round out the women’s score.
The Lions will play a final 18 holes tomorrow for each gender to finish out the tournament.
