The Missouri Southern Jazz Orchestra will offer the first of two spring concerts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.
The concert will open with performances by student jazz combos, joined by Dr. Justin Croushore, adjunct brass professor.
“The Southern Jazz Orchestra will perform after the student combos,” said Dr. Keith Talley, professor of music and director of the jazz orchestra. “The concert will feature jazz standards from a variety of different composers, such as Sammy Nestico, Freddie Hubbard, Duke Ellington and Count Basie.”
The concert is free and open to the public. Talley said the next Southern Jazz Orchestra concert is scheduled for May 5.
